How a home stager in Chicago gets a client in Australia

worldinhandsToday I heard from a client in Australia who needs to sell her Chicago property. She wanted me to recommend a Chicago home stager to help her. Naturally, that’s Ranee D. Strawn Distinctive Design.  And she’ll get this work without paying any referral fee for it.

Think about this. Here I am in Toronto, finding a home stager for someone all the way across the world in Australia to work for her in Chicago.

This is possible because I’ve trained over 1000 home stagers and they’re spread all over 5 continents. But more importantly, some like Ranee Strawn, have chosen to join the Staging Diva Directory of Home Stagers. So when I send this client to the Home Staging Directory and she types Chicago in the “find a home stager” search box, presto, there’s Ranee’s company with a full profile, contact information and portfolio of before and after photos.

One staging project from the Directory can more than pay for the entire Staging Diva Home Staging Training Program, plus a year of participating in the Directory. It’s frankly a mystery to me why more new or aspiring home stagers are reluctant to invest in something with such a quick pay-back, especially the ones who complain business is slow.

I hear from struggling home stagers all the time. They complain about a shortage of funds but don’t want to invest in my course to find out how to charge for their services or how to market themselves. They’re situation won’t change until they do something different, like learn how to actually run a home staging business. Yet they won’t take action to get out of the rut they’ve dug themselves into by not knowing how to make a living as a home stager.

Home staging is not all about design and decorating, it’s a business if you want it to actually earn money at it.
