This is a short week for those of you in the US who had a day off for Memorial Day and last week was the first
long weekend of the summer for Canadians who celebrate Victoria Day in May.
I love spending long weekends with my family, trying new restaurants or just sitting and listening to the fountain in my garden. I love my downtime but I don’t live for those days off because as a home stager, I get to dictate my schedule and take days off whenever I want.
Besides, when you do work you love it’s really true that you never work another day in your life because it doesn’t feel like work!
I know what it feels like to be biding time behind your desk until the next holiday weekend – I was there once before. It is a terrible feeling. Counting down the days until your vacation and focusing on that all the time is no way to live!
If you’re still trying to work up the courage to start your own home staging business – if you have a feeling in your gut that it’s what you should be doing with your life – I urge you to really listen to that voice. And when you hear that voice of self-doubt whisper in your ear, telling you that a regular person like yourself could never be successful as a home stager, that those success stories only apply to a different select group…don’t listen!
Because I hear this question from so many aspiring home stagers, I’ve put together a new free report: Ask Staging Diva: “Can a regular person like me become a successful home stager?”
It’s filled with completely true inspirational stories of successful home stagers who started out as regular people just like you, and found the courage to follow their dreams.
I want you to download this free report for home stagers and read it from cover to cover (it’s a very fast read!). Then I want you to give it to your spouse, your friends, your sister – anyone in your life whose support you crave but who isn’t 100% behind you in your dream to embark on a home staging training journey.
My mission is to inspire others to create opportunities in their lives and I believe this free report will give many people the courage to do just that.
When you read the report, please leave a comment below and let me know what you think!

HELP!
As a one-time real estate agent, now a home-stager, I have the skill-set; the ambition, the courage, the desire, the training … BUT what I can’t finalize to my satisfaction is that all important business card. What to say where, how much to state, ect. Both sides? One side?
As long as I’m stuck “here”, I can’t get “there”. Know what I mean? HELP!
Sherry
Hi Sherry, Your business card must look very professional and be a reflection of the business image you are trying to project for yourself in your new role as a home stager.
Stay away from stock photos of interiors as you will be misrepresenting your work.
Consider having a professionally designed logo done as this will help create the right first impression. I discuss this at length in the Staging Diva Ultimate Portfolio Guide.
Sherry please check out the links in my comment above. They’ll take you to related articles I’ve written on this subject.
